Application Season Begins

8/31/09
Hello everyone! It's already the end of August, and many law schools begin accepting applications tomorrow! I remember one law school admissions dean joked, "It's good to be one of the first to get your application in, but don't be the very first." Many law schools have rolling admissions, so the earlier you get your application in, the better chance you have of being accepted. The competition only gets harder the later your submit your application. Remember to use your personal statement to show you possess the qualities of intellectual excellence, leadership, friendliness, and the ability to view a situation from multiple perspectives. Give specific evidence to support every claim you make about your accomplishments and attributes. By constructing a strong and persuasive argument for why the admissions committee members should accept you, and presenting that argument in lively prose (stories work well), you're well on your way to admission.
